Computer chairs, the ones that roll around, don’t seem to last as long as we’d like them to. Not long after our purchasing one, we begin to notice the chair beginning to fall apart. This also isn’t great since we pay so much for one that’s pretty comfortable. In the end it seems that our only option is to try and take care of the chair the best we can, but there is another option!
Once your computer chair has reached it limit or it becomes uncomfortable, you can actually replace the seat with another of your choosing. I believe that using a car seat would be one of the best replacements. I’m sure that everyone has sat in a car seat that they found extremely comfortable. To turn one of these car seats into a computer chair is actually pretty easy.
To being this process you will of course need the bottom part of the computer chair, the car seat you find most comfortable and some plywood. To get this piece from your worn computer chair, you will want to unbolt the screws on the bottom of the chair. After this the top part of the chair will be able to be removed, leaving you with bottom half.
At this moment you will want to cut your plywood according to the size underneath the car seat you chose. Then you will want to place the plywood on top of the lower half of the computer chair. Make sure that the wood is centered and then make indicators as to where the bolts will need to go. Once you have those indicators you will then want to do the same for the car seat. If there are still rails on the bottom of the car seat, you should remove them at this time or keep them if you desire. Begin to drill holes in the plywood and then mount the board to the top of the bottom half of the computer chair.
Once this has been done, you will be able to put the car sear on top of the plywood and then begin to bolt it down. When the car seat has been bolted down, you will now have your new comfortable computer chair!
These chairs can be great but it is up to you on how you would like to construct it. You can even attach arm rests to some these chairs by finding good supports for them. They can also come with lumbar depending on the car seat that you choose. They can even get them to have heat seat function if you choose the right seat and right batteries for them. There are so many possibilities!

Wow, I would have never thought of this idea for repurposing a broken computer chair! I am definitely going to make a table out of our old computer chair once we get a replacement! Great Idea.cs57.11
